Yalova University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing Oath Ceremony took place at Mehmet Okul Congress and Culture Center. 2023-2024 Academic Year 1st Semester Graduates took the oath and stepped into the health sector. The “Oath of Nursing” was first created in 1893 in the form of Florence Nightingale's pledge to be used in the Nursing Graduation Ceremony in 1893, and was accepted as the “International Oath of Nursing” by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in 1965. This pledge has been included in the graduation ceremonies of nursing schools all over the world and in our country since the past.
Speaking at the event, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Vefik Arıca expressed his pleasure to share the excitement of our students as they step into this honorable profession and said, “Nursing requires knowledge and skills as well as dedication, patience and human love. I wholeheartedly believe that you will always care about ethical values and professional responsibilities throughout your professional life.” Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yıldız started his speech by congratulating all graduates and said, “We are proud to graduate the first students of our nursing department. I congratulate all our students as well as our families who have made great sacrifices. I sincerely believe that our graduates will keep national and moral values at the forefront throughout their professional life.” Prof. Dr. Rabia Hacıhasanoğlu Aşılar, Head of the Department of Nursing, congratulated the graduates of the 1st semester of the 2023-2024 academic year and said, “Today, we send off our young people who will realize the modern tomorrows of our beautiful country with love.” and concluded her words with good wishes.
