Nursing is a discipline consisting of science and art that focuses on protecting and improving the health of the individual, family and society and aims to bring the individual to the ideal level of health and quality of life. The role of nurses covers all areas of a person's life from birth to death. In addition to the roles of "providing care" and "participating in the treatment plan", nurses also have roles such as "creating a safe and healthy environment", "education", "counseling", "research", "management", "quality improvement", "collaboration", "communication".
Nursing is an applied health discipline that includes theoretical knowledge and skills, and nursing education requires a systematic and serious study. Interventions should be carefully and critically evaluated to ensure that nursing care is effective, safe and adequate. The philosophical belief in the uniqueness of the human being reveals the necessity of maintaining the theoretical and practical aspects of nursing vocational education with contemporary methods.
The department has experienced faculty members who follow scientific and technological developments, transfer their knowledge to education and training processes, continuously improve themselves, and are experienced in education and training processes. In order for our students to receive a good education in accordance with national standards and at international level for 4 years, with all our knowledge, skills, experiences and all our possibilities, we provide our students with a contemporary and qualified education program to protect, develop and maintain the health of individuals, families and society; We aim to educate our students as professional nurses who can effectively use their roles such as education, practice, research, management and leadership in protecting, developing and maintaining the health of individuals, families and society, who are aware of their responsibilities towards their country, who have ethical values, who respect human rights, who have autonomy, who are practitioners, researchers, educators, leaders and managers with a collaborative, researcher, contemporary and qualified education program with universal standards of health and care services.
Our nursing program, which consists of theoretical, laboratory and practice areas, has been prepared to provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes required by university education and to provide social and cultural development. Students are accepted to the department with the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) numerical score type. The duration of education is 4 years and the language of instruction is Turkish. In order to reinforce the knowledge and skills gained in the first three years, to adapt more easily to their professional lives after graduation and to provide quality care, our students practice three days a week in clinics / fields in the last year. Our graduates receive the title of 'nurse'. After receiving the title of nurse, they can work in institutions and organizations providing health services such as hospitals, family health centers, schools, child welfare institutions, elderly care centers, nursing homes, home health services, prisons and detention centers, workplaces, counseling centers, R&D centers. The nursing profession, which is in the first place among the rapidly developing professions with guaranteed employment, offers various opportunities in terms of academic career.
